Robert “Chip” Knighton

March 2, 1959 — April 2, 2021

A loving husband and father, Robert “Chip” Knighton of Bonaire, Georgia, lost his battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS) on Friday, April 2, 2021. Chip’s wishes were fulfilled as his body was donated to further ALS research in hopes that it would help find a cure for anyone battling this disease.

Chip was preceded in death by his father, Robert Knighton; mother and stepfather, Canoye and Ronald Hardin; and brothers, Andy Knighton and Gregg Knighton.

His memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife, Linda Knighton of Bonaire; sons, Kevin Knighton (Valerie) of Byron; and Kelly Knighton (Leigh) of Eatonton; brothers, Keith Knighton (Becky); and Patrick Knighton (Tanya), all of Milledgeville; five grandchildren; and stepmother, Glenda Knighton; and sisters, Gloria and Denise, all of Milledgeville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service celebrating Chip’s life will be announced at a later date.
