Robert D. Wright, Sr.

Robert D. Wright, Sr., 59, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2004 at his home. A memorial service will be held at McCullough Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at 11:00 a.m.

Robert was a man of strong character and integrity. He had a jovial wit and a great sense of humor. He was devoted to his wife of thirty years, Donna. He deeply loved his mother and cherished his whole family.

His love for animals encompassed his life.

When he was an Insurance Adjuster and traveled, he kept water and cat and dog food in his car. Every time he saw a stray, he would stop and feed him. If the animal was injured, he would get help for it. If there was identification, he would try to get the pet to the owner. A lot of them ended up being taken home.

In Robert’s memory, donations may be made to the Byron Animal Shelter, City of Byron, 101 Murdock Lane, Byron, GA 31008.

Mr. Wright was born in Albany, GA. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, the Mason’s of Byron, GA, Ambassador for the Peach County Chamber of Commerce, and the former Mayor of Byron, 2000-2004. He graduated from Albany High School in 1963 and Georgia Southwestern College in Americus in 1968. His father, Wilbur Wright; grandparents, Jacob L. and Lennie Wright, and brother-in-law, John Kadlubowski, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Donna S. Wright, Byron, GA; mother, Toby Wright, Albany, GA; son, Jeffrey Morey (Ashley), Albany, GA; nine grandchildren and sister, Sandra Kadlubowski, PA.
