Robert E. (Hutch) Hutchens

Robert E. (Hutch) Hutchens, 73, died Monday, August 25, 2003. Services will be held on Thursday, August 28 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.

Born in Sheridan, IN, Robert served in the United States Army. He retired from the Department of Defense after 35 years of distinguished service and was recognized by the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Outstanding Achievement as a member of the Office of Inspector General. He was a member of Police Benevolence in Morrow. An avid golfer, Robert also worked at Lake Spivey Country Club. His parents, Russell and Laverne Hutchens, and grandson, Drew Hutchens, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Lou Hutchens, Morrow; six children: Don Hutchens (Nancy), Sewanee, TN; Ron Hutchens (Rayliene), Senoia; Bill Hutchens (Cathy), New Bern, NC; Kathy Barry (Randy), Bonaire; Robbie Hutchens (Donna), McDonough; and Andy Hutchens (Misty), Stockbridge; brother, Charles Hutchens, Indianapolis, IN; sisters, Mary Inskeep (Don), also of Indianapolis, and Bonnie West, Madisonville, TN; brother-in-law, William V. Wood (Eva), Willow St., PA; and 15 grandchildren.
