Warner Robins – Robert Earle Vaughan, 90, entered into rest on Friday, February 26, 2010.

Mr. Vaughan was born on March 12, 1919 in Milldale, Virginia. With pride and honor he served his country in the United States Navy. As a highly decorated officer he served on the USS Denebola AD12 from 1939 – 1945 serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters. After the war he joined the reserves and retired with the rank of Master Chief Machinist. A kind and loving husband, father and teacher, he had many hobbies. The family expresses thanks to his fishing friend William Bill Childress and neighbor Jill Pleasant. His parents, Carter and Eva Vaughan, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of sixty seven years, Laurette W. Vaughan; son, Robert E. Vaughan, Jr., Rockwood, Tennessee; daughters, Bonnie V. Miller, Manchester, Tennessee, Dina Vaughan, Bainbridge Island, Washington, Wendy V. Wheeler, Chattanooga, Tennessee; ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Services will be private.
