Robert F. ''Bob'' Beckmann, 88, entered into rest on Sunday, June 12, 2011.
Bob was born on December 30, 1922 in Irvington, New Jersey. He attended Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. A resident of Warner Robins since 1958, Bob served on the Warner Robins City Council as Mayor Pro-tem from 1968 to 1972. Mr. Beckmann was a retired Army Veteran and served in World War II. He also retired from Civil Service as Chief of Small Business and Contractors office at Robins Air Force Base after forty years. His hobbies included golfing, running, and he was a Master Mason. A pilot, he also enjoyed the air shows and was a huge supporter of the armed forces. His parents, Harry and Clara Beckmann; and brothers, Richard Beckmann and Harold Beckmann preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Marilyn Beckmann; children, Craig Beckmann, Warner Robins, Mark (Sheila) Beckmann, Clemmons, North Carolina, Barbara (Dennis) Jardine, Stewartsville, New Jersey, Debbie (Jimmy) Chatman, Macon, Kathy (Alan) Barger, Warner Robins; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2011 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with committal following at 1:00 p.m. in Andersonville National Cemetery. The family will accept flowers, or memorial donations may be given to Al-Sihah Shriners Children's Hospital, 222 Mecca Drive, Macon, GA 31206, or to Georgia Sheriff's Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 100, Hahira, GA 31632.
