Robert Gerard Burton

Robert Gerard Burton, 45, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 30, 2011.

Mr. Burton was born on January 15, 1966 in Taunton, Massachusetts. With pride and honor, he served his country in both the National Guard (for twenty-three years) where he received numerous awards; and in the United States Army, serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Most recently, he worked in civil service at Robins Air Force Base as a Program Manager. Dearest to his heart were his family and friends, whom will miss him greatly.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving and devoted wife of sixteen years, Carol Eileen Edwards Burton; sons, Seth W. Burton and Evan D. Burton; siblings, Suzanne Greenwood (Chet), Mary Lamoureux (Rick), and Katie Burton (Chris); nieces, Michaela and Gabriella; nephews, Ryan, Keith John, Andrew, Matthew and Zachary; parents, David Burton and Suzanne Lynn Curry Burton; mother-in-law, Patricia Edwards; and his beloved pets, Sookie and Bindi. Robert is now reunited with his most beloved pet, Peaches.

Visitation will be Monday, September 5, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at McCullough Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville. Memorial donations may be made to Boy Scouts of America, 4335 Confederate Way, Macon GA 31217.
