Robert Lee ''Red'' McGlamory, 78, entered into rest on Saturday, October 22, 2011.
Mr. McGlamory was born on July 24, 1933 in Vienna, Georgia. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict, and later retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. Red was an avid fisherman and a professional bird dog trainer and guide. He most recently worked at Barksdale Plantation in Cochran, Georgia. He was also a member of the Senior Citizen Softball League of Warner Robins. Red was of the Baptist faith, and was cherished as a husband, father, stepfather, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His wives, Tina Lorina Ellenburg McGlamory and Cora Ann Mullis McGlamory; parents, Lee McGlamory and Lolita Holland McGlamory; and loving sister, Dovie Griffin, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Rita A. McGlamory of Warner Robins and Ellie Gossett of Central, South Carolina; stepchildren, Cheryl Wallace (Arneal) of Perry, Angel Conley-Davis of Warner Robins, Steve Mullis of Kathleen, and Keith Conley of Warner Robins; brother, Tyke McGlamory of Warner Robins; five grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2011 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Chaplain Todd Shearin, D.C.O. Jerry Bisping, and Reverend Butch Dupree will officiate. The family will accept flowers or memorial donations may be given to Serenity Hospice, 1057 North Houston Road, Warner Robins, GA 31093.
