Robert Mitchell Owens, Jr.

Butch Owens, 66, entered into rest on Saturday, May 2, 2009.

Mr. Owens was born on November 14, 1942, in Thomaston, Georgia. With pride and honor he served his country in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic having fought during Vietnam. He retired from Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas with the rank of Master Sergeant and later retired from Robins Air Force Base as a civil servant. He was also a member of the American Legion. His parents, Robert and Martha Owens, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Frances Owens; children, Terri Hill and Michael Owens; grandchildren, Ashley Owens, Cody Mahler, Jarred Burch, Nathan Burch, David Hill, Alex Hill and Taylor Owens; niece, Harriet Owens and nephew, Steven Owens.

Visitation will be Monday, May 4, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
