Roberta Swain, 90, passed away on October 18, 2007 after a brief illness. Roberta was born February 22, 1917. She was a retired civil service employee from Robins Air Force Base. She had lived in Warner Robins since 1943, was member of Centerville Methodist Church and a charter member of Martha Berry Eastern Star.
Her son, James Ray Winslett; husbands, James Marcus Winslett and Frank Swain; brother, R. L. Butler; sister, Julia Turner, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughter, Juanita Winslett Lane; husband, James E. Lane; daughter-in-law, Donna Winslett, grandson, Michael Winslett, both of Fernandina Beach, Florida; granddaughter, Teresa Winslett Sterns, Tampa, Florida; grandson, Jim Marshall, Washington D. C.; great-grandson, Jonathan Sterns, Tampa, Florida; sister, Ruth B. George; sisters-in-law, Margaret Butler, Macon, Georgia and Lucile Butler Winslett, Cochran, Georgia; several nieces and nephews.
Roberta was a fun-loving, “love everybody’ kind of person. She was a young “90” until her brief illness. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, October 19, 2007, from 5:00p.m.until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2007 in McCullough Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Family accepts flower, but ask that any donations be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr, Warner Robins, GA 31088 or Centerville First United Methodist Church, 600 N. Houston Lake Blvd Centerville, GA 31028.
