Ronald L. Morton, age 81, passed away in the early morning hours of February 24, 2021.
Ronald was born on December 20, 1939 in Sweetwater, Tennessee. He graduated from Ringgold High School in Ringgold, Georgia in 1958. He then attended Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tennessee in 1962 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering.
Ronald worked for D.M. Steward Manufacturing Co. in Chattanooga, Tennessee from 1962 to 1964 as the plant engineer. He worked a combined 42 years in federal service as an industrial engineer for the U.S. Postal Service and Robins Air Force Base from 1964 until his retirement from the base in 2007.
His parents, Gaston and Elizabeth Martin Morton, as well as brother, Larry Morton, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife of 56 years, Bobbie Hunter Morton of Macon; children, Curtis Morton of Macon and daughter, Ronda Hooper (Robert) of Perry; granddaughters, Emily and Elana Hooper of Perry; two aunts, Alice Martin Creech of Houston, Texas and Grace Madaris Morton of Ringgold; and one uncle, Paul Martin of Decatur, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 1, 2021 at McCullough Funeral Home. Immediately following visitation, at 1:00 p.m., a service will be held in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. A private burial will take place at Lakewood Memory Gardens in Rossville, Georgia.
