Rose ''Coot'' Baxley, 75, entered into rest on Thursday, June 27, 2013.
Coot was born on December 3, 1937 in Banks, Alabama to the late Floyd and Allie Mae Johnson Abercrombie. She was a wonderful and devoted homemaker and loved gardening, cooking, and serving others. Coot called Cornerstone Freewill Baptist her church home.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of fifty-six years, Roger L. Baxley of Fort Valley; children, Markus Baxley (Kathleen) of Milledgeville, Kandi Hurlburt (Claude) of Warner Robins and Melody McNeil (Bruce) of Fort Valley; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Elna Sansoucie and Floyd Abercrombie, both of Columbus.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church in Fort Valley with interment following in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service at the church. The families will accept flowers or donations may be given to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Suite A, Macon, GA 31201 or to Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church, 10157 Highway 341 N., Fort Valley, GA 31030.
