Roy Edwin Ditterline, Jr.

July 19, 1922 — November 2, 2003

Roy Edwin Ditterline, Jr., 81, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 2, 2003. Services will be held on Thursday, November 6, at All Saints Episcopal Church at 11:00 a.m. with entombment following in Magnolia Park Mausoleum. Fr. Paul Gerlock will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at McCullough Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of Houston County, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088, or to All Saints Episcopal Church, 1708 Watson Blvd, Warner Robins, GA 31093.

Mr. Ditterline was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to the late Roy E. Ditterline, Sr., and Anna Margaret Ditterline. He graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base, where he served as Deputy Base Civil Engineer from 1966 through 1980. A pilot in the Army Air Corps during WWII, he earned the American Theater Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. He retired from the Air Force Reserves with the rank of Lt Col.

A member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Mr. Ditterline served as Senior Warden, Choir Director, and Lay Reader. He was a member and past president of the Warner Robins Kiwanis Club, a member of the Warner Robins Bowling Association and Air Force Association, and an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Clydie Ditterline, Warner Robins; daughters, Judy D. Reynolds, Carol Garland (David), Warner Robins, and Nancy D. St. John (Bob), Lizella; grandchildren, Matthew D. Garland, Christi A. Shorter, Amy G. Shepherd, Heather K. Reynolds, Amy D. Balkema, Christy L. Garland, and Katie M. Reynolds; and nine great-grandchildren.
