Roy Sentell, 92, entered into rest on February 3, 2017.
Roy was born on August 27, 1924 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Following his high school graduation, he joined the United States Navy and participated during World War II. Upon his Navy retirement, he continued to serve as a Civil Service Firefighter at Robins Air Force Base. Roy had his license as a Ham operator, enjoyed CB radios and was an avid fisherman. He was also a Mason. A loyal man, he was devoted to his country, the Navy and his firefighting career. Roy adored his family and beloved grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Inez Crisp Sentell; parents, George and Gertrude Kelly Sentell; siblings, Georgia Towell, Melvin Sentell, Margaret Johnson, and Tom Sentell; and grandchild, Eric Johnson.
Roy's memory will forever be treasured by his children, Linda Sue Wiegard of Centerville and Nancy Johnson of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Kelly Sue Carter (David), Kimberly Woody (Roy), both of Atlanta, Elizabeth Nerger (Ronnie) and Jon-Michael Bemke (Lori), both of Warner Robins; great grandchildren, Robyn Parsons, Andrew Gambrell, Mary Woody, Hunter Petersdorff, Margaret Woody, Jackson "Jack" Carter, Tyler Bemke, Eleanor "Ellie" Carter and Tatum Bemke; and sister, Mildred Holland of Ohio.
Family will receive friends Monday, February 6, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with Mr. Sentell's arrangements.
