October 17, 1944 — August 25, 2015

Roy L. Stogsdill, 70, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015.

Roy was born on October 17, 1944 in Springfield, Missouri to the late Don G. and Wilda Brashears Stogsdill. Roy graduated from West High School in Wichita, Kansas. He then continued his education at Wichita State University from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He served in the Army National Guard. He worked at Robins Air Force Base for many years and retired as a Branch Chief in Electronics. Roy was a longtime member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, Bible teacher and counselor, treasurer, and Clerk of Session. He was a Gideon and part of the Bill Glass Prison Ministry. Additionally, Roy was an accomplished golfer and bowler, things he enjoyed with friends. However, there was nothing that gave him more joy than spending time with his family, and most especially playing with his six beloved grandchildren.

Along with his parents, his sister, Sharon Porsberg, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 39 years, Lynette Sirmons Stogsdill of Warner Robins; daughters, Carrie McNair (Terry) of Kathleen and Kimberly Clements (Jason) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Caden and Noah McNair, Ralph, William, Levi, and Carson Clements; sister, Donna Scott of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and nephew, Jason Forsyth of Dallas, Texas.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
