Roy W. Deane

Roy W. Deane passed away at the Medical Center of Peach County, Navicent Health on Monday, March 1, 2021. He was 60 years old.

On December 19, 1960, Mr. Deane was born to the late Edward Lee Deane, Sr. and Geneva Christine Jackson Deane. He grew up in Jones County before moving to Warner Robins in 1967. Mr. Deane graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1978 before continuing his education at Middle Georgia College. He worked diligently at his family’s business, Pyrotechnic Specialties Inc. in Byron before going to work for Bibb County where he became the Maintenance Manager at Lake Tobesofkee. After retiring, Mr. Deane founded Tucker Grove Game Calls Inc. In his spare moments, he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and competitive fishing. He was a member of the Private Stock Hunting Club. Most of all, he was a devoted member of Harmony Community Church and Mr. Deane will be fondly remembered for his faith in God, love for his family, and his exceptional work ethic.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Deane was preceded in death by his brother, James Thomas “Tommy” Deane.

His memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife of 25 years, Sharon Deane of Byron; children, Justin Owens (Katie) of Lizella; Ryan Owens (Jessica) of Byron; Derrick Deane (Ashley); and Dillon Deane, all of Warner Robins; six grandchildren; siblings, Edward Lee Deane Jr. (Linda); and Dianne Deane Talbert (Skip); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation with Mr. Deane’s family will be Thursday, March 4, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating his life will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Hendrix officiating. Following the service, Mr. Deane will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with a private family committal.
