Ruby Johnson Smith, 85, walked into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 1, 2015.
Ruby was born on May 16, 1929 in Washington County, Georgia to the late Harvey and Nannie Lou Dye Johnson. She retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base and was a devoted member of The Assembly at Warner Robins. Ruby enjoyed arts and crafts, and had a deep passion for writing. She especially loved writing songs and children's books.
In addition to her parents; son, Dewey Smith; daughter, Debby Alford; granddaughter, Billie K. Smith; and siblings, Ralph L. Johnson, Jean Manchester and Ann Ruth Alford, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving son, Bill Smith of Lizella; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Corky Alford of Warner Robins; sister, Nancy Bray of Wrightsville; and a host of adoring nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
