On Sunday, February 4, 2018, Ruby Mae Myers’ wish of dying at home was granted. She was 95.
Mae was born on December 1, 1922 in Wilmerding, Pennsylvania to the late Fred G. and Mildred Thompson. On July 29, 1944, she married the love of her life, Russell Myers in Pennsylvania, and together they traveled all over with his military career. Mae always had a smile on her face and was known for her sunny and cheerful disposition. She enjoyed playing piano, tennis, golf, gardening, cooking, and was an accomplished artist.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Fred G. Thompson, Robert J. Thompson, James D. Thompson, and Eugene Thompson.
Mae’s memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 73 years, Russell W. Myers, USAF (Ret.) of Warner Robins; children, Russell W. Myers, Jr. of Bellport, New York, Robert J. Myers of Dover, Delaware, Virginia L. Myers of Atlanta, Richard A. Myers of Oakland, California, and Charles F. Myers of Chesapeake, Virginia; and sisters, June Guckert and Mildred Koester.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery in Pennsylvania at a later date.
