Rufus Bryant Dancy, Jr.

Rufus Bryant Dancy, Jr., 80, entered into rest on Thursday, August 2, 2012.

Rufus was born on January 8, 1932 in Danville, Virginia. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was Owner and Operator of the esteemed Dancy's Tires for five years where his customers were always provided with excellent and honest service. Rufus was of the Baptist faith, loved model airplanes, and will always be remembered as a devoted father and grandfather. His loving wife, Thelma Phillips Dancy; and parents, Rufus B. Dancy, Sr. and Bertie Tysinger Dancy, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving children, Rebecca D. Lee (Jamie), Roger Dancy, Rodney Dancy, Randy Dancy (Tammy), Rhonda Dancy, and Danielle Bibbins (Jerome); seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, August 3, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Pastor Mark Watkins will officiate.
