Eighty five year old Lonnie Hicks was reunited with his wife, the love of his life, the late Margaret Hicks, on Sunday, January 29, 2017.
Born on January 24, 1932 in Mountainburg, Arkansas to the late Raymond and Myrtle Hicks, Lonnie was one of ten children. As a young man, he served in the United States Army before working thirty-four years in civil service at Robins Air Force Base. Lonnie was a longtime active member of First Christian Church of Warner Robins. He had a passion for baseball and enjoyed coaching for many years.
Along with his wife and parents, his son, Donnie Hicks, and two brothers, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his sons, Lonnie Hicks of Hawkinsville and James Hicks of Dallas; grandchildren, Shaun Hicks (Niki); Quinton Hicks (Chastity); great-grandchildren, Camden Hicks, Addie Hicks, and Landon Hicks, all of Warner Robins; five brothers; two sisters and special caregivers, Laura and Karen Gallaher.
Visitation with Lonnie's family will be Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2017 in the Chapel of McCullough. Following the service, Lonnie will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Rufus "Lonnie" Hicks to Hospice Care Options, 136 Hospital Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
