Russell Leonard Pykles of Fort Valley passed away on February 4, 2021, after a brief illness. He was 68 years old.
Born August 13, 1952, in Mankato, Minnesota, Russell was the son of the late Leonard Pykles and Marie Miller. He graduated from Loyola High School and after high school he joined the U.S. Air Force. He worked in communications for the Air Force where he was a Communications and Relay Center Equipment Repairman. After leaving the Air Force, Russell worked as a master auto technician for Dodge and Nissan for over 40 years. He had a love for all animals, especially his horses.
Survivors include his son, Brian Pykles (Cora) of Byron, Phillip Pykles (Christina) of Kathleen; daughter, Christina Pykles of Los Angeles, California; granddaughter, Kayleigh Pykles of Kathleen; sisters, Sandra Zweifel (Wendell) of Truman, Minnesota, Sharon Pykles, and Janice Pykles, both of Mankato, Minnesota; and four nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 8, 2021, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will take place on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Magnolia Park Cemetery where military honors will be rendered.
