Ruth Halverson, 88, entered into rest on Friday, October 25, 2013.
Ruth was born on November 26, 1924 in Pixley, California. After graduating high school in 1943, she graduated from Albany Technical College in 1950. She was a Board Certified Dental Hygienist from 1954 until her retirement in 1991, during which she worked for Jack A. Bell, DDS and Alex Bell, DMD in Warner Robins.
Ruth was a much-loved member of First Baptist Church of Centerville and the Jackie Davis Sunday School Class. She was also active in several organizations including Warner Robins Senior Citizens, Military Surviving Spouses, and the Dental Hygienist Organization. Ruth enjoyed traveling and cooking, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Her husband, Curtis W. Halverson; parents, Ivan and Maggie Carroll Massey; and two brothers and one sister, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Ruthie Mercer, Warner Robins, Georgia; Delores Mathis (Ronnie), Marietta, Georgia; Terry Halverson (Tina), Albany, Georgia; and Kim Halverson (Debbie), Marietta, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister, Lorene Barfield, Sylvester, Georgia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 27, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Centerville with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family will accept flowers or donations may be given to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry St., Ste A, Macon, GA 31201 or Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
