Samuel W. Long, 70, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 27, 2012.
Samuel was born on November 29, 1941in Ray City, Georgia. He was a member of First Baptist Church Centerville. With pride and honor he served his country in the United States Army. Samuel worked for the City of Lawrenceville as a Lineman. His parents, John W. Long and Zelma Taylor Long, and sister, Mary Joan Long Kight, all preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his son, Jonathan S. Long (Heather), Monroe, Georgia; sisters, Carolyn Hancock (Larry), Orangeburg, South Carolina; Shirley J. Rowan (Bobby), Warner Robins, Georgia; grandchildren, Alana, Nevaeh, Pax and Lyncoln Long; many nieces and nephews; and special grand nieces and nephews, Tabitha Jane-Ann Rowan and Dexter Hayden Rowan; and many extended family members and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at First Baptist Church Centerville with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at First Baptist Church Centerville. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Centerville, 108 Church Street, Centerville, Georgia 31028 or the Houston County Humane Society, Inc., P.O. Box 9588, Warner Robins, Georgia 31095-9588.
