Sandra Gordon, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the age of 72.
Born in Vidalia, GA on January 20, 1950, Sandra was the daughter of the late Maurice and Hazel Sharpe Cannon and was of the Methodist faith. She worked in the banking industry for over 10 years and retired from Civil Service with a number of years in Human Resources at Robins Air Force Base. Sandra was without a doubt a hard worker and gave her all to whatever she did, whether it was at work or at home. She deeply loved her family and friends and showed that love in selfless service. Sandra was a wonderful mother, a doting grandmother, and a loving companion who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. In addition to spending time with those closest to her, she was a great cook and enjoyed gardening, sewing and reading.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her brother, Randy Cannon (Peggy) of Milledgeville.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 28 years, Jerry Gordon of Perry; children, Jason Ross of Perry and Emily Katherine Greer (Nathan) of Macon; grandchildren, Ellis, Ross and Bowen Greer, all of Macon and Jessa, Craig and Banks Ross, all of Mt. Vernon, TX; and siblings, Bonnie Walker (Dave) of Naperville, IL and Sue Carrick of Evans, GA.
A memorial gathering with Sandra’s family will take place on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Centerville United Methodist Church. A memorial service celebrating her life will immediately follow at 5:00 p.m. at the church.
