Sara Frances Venezia Morris, 83, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2005 at Houston Medical Center. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2005, at First Baptist Church of Centerville with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimers Association, 277 Martin Luther King Blvd., Macon, GA 31201; or the First Baptist Church of Centerville Building Fund, 108 Church Street, Centerville, GA 31028.
Mrs. Morris was born in Houston County. She worked for Robins Air Force Base for 37 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Centerville, where she served on the finance committee. Mrs. Morris was also very active in her community, serving as the past president of the Senior Citizens of Centerville and the state coordinator for Alzheimer’s NARF. She was also the first woman elected to serve on the city council of Houston County for Centerville. In addition, Mrs. Morris was an active member of both AACA and MARC. Her parents, Ira Crawford, Sr. and Vivian Ray Clark, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Hugh Morris, Centerville; son, Tom W. Collins, Jr. (Sandra), Perry; daughter, Kay S. Collins, Centerville; stepdaughters, Lillie Elise Crowe (Donald), Lake Oconee; Claire Richardson (Mike), Warner Robins; stepson, A.J. Venezia (Joan), Chicago, Illinois; sisters, Annette Maddox (Roy), Perry; Vivian Crownver, Turin; grandchildren, Lori Soles; Tom Collins III; Ginger Forhand; Susan Collins; Phillip Collins.
