Sara Jenkins Polk

Sara Jenkins Polk passed away Monday, April 14, 2003 after a long illness. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, at 11:00am in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7:00 until 9:00pm at McCullough Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund, 701 Sandy Run RD, Warner Robins, GA 31088.

Mrs. Polk was born in Sandersville, Georgia, on November 4, 1910 and had lived in Warner Robins since 1943. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and the Faith Bible Class Sunday school class. She was also a retired civil service employee and a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great, great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe I. Polk, and granddaughter, April Lucetta Polk.

She is survived by five sons and their wives, Joe and Belle Polk of Douglas, GA; Bill and Pat Polk of Warner Robins, Dan and Patsy Polk of Brunson, South Carolina, Frank and Joyce Polk of Beaufort, South Carolina, and Ed and Barbara Polk of Warner Robins; sisters, Nell Middleton of Georgetown, South Carolina, and Embelle Guerry and husband Jennings, also of Georgetown, S.C.; 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; 3 great, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
