Sara Ritchie Stephens, 88, entered into rest on Monday, July 7, 2014.
Sara was born on April 29, 1926 in Hilton, Georgia. She was Valedictorian at Houston County High School, class of 1944, in Columbia, Alabama. Sara was a wonderful and proud homemaker, wife, and mother to her children. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and the XYZ Senior Adult Group at Second Baptist Church. Sara was an extraordinary lady who loved spending time with her family and friends.
Her parents, James and Blanche Grimsley Ritchie; brothers, T.R. Ritchie, Orel Ritchie, and Mack Ritchie; and sister, Nora Clarke, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband, James Stephens of Warner Robins, Georgia; sons, Edward Stanford, Jr. of Pensacola, Florida and Stan Stanford (Judith) of Brooklyn, New York; daughters, Dianne Johnson (Mike) of Marietta, Georgia and Carla Stephens Aldridge (David) of Lizella, Georgia; grandchildren, Nick Johnson, Morgan Anne Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson, Bernard Stanford, Becca Stanford, Nathaniel Stanford, Lydia Stanford, Amber Mauldin, and Ray Powers III; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Lonnie C. Ritchie (Bobbie) of LaGrange, Georgia.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be given to Second Baptist Building Fund, 2504 Moody Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31008
