Sara "Ruth" Owens

Sara "Ruth" "MawMaw" Owens (December 19, 1933 – April 30, 2016) passed away surrounded by loving family on April 30, 2016.

A celebration of her life will be Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at McCullough Funeral Home with graveside services following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends two hours prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m.

Sara "Ruth" was born in Ft. Payne, Alabama to the late Marvin Henderson and Willie Grace Haynes and was preceded in death by her husband, RD "Rembert" Owens; son, Michael Owens and great granddaughter, Mia Owens. She worked at Houston Medical Center in the Intensive Care Unit for many years. She loved her family, enjoyed cooking and gardening in her spare time.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Rembert "Ronnie" Owens, Jr. (Kim) of Macon, Marvin "Budgy" Owens (Dixie) of Byron, Karen Poole (Lindsey) of Ft. Valley, Steve Owens (Sonya) of Byron and Curtis Owens (Janice) of Ft. Valley; twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends.
