Sara Schuessler Jones

Sara Schuessler Jones, 90, entered into rest on Thursday, July 26, 2012.

Sara was born on December 26, 1921 in Lafayette, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her husband Tom, to whom she was married for fifty-eight years and daughter, Ann who recently passed away; parents, Zack and Mary Straiton Schuessler; brothers, Straiton, Zack and Richard Schuessler; sisters, Ella Brown Torbert, and Mary Ellen Graf. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Sara and her husband were long time employees of Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins where they retired from in the 1980's. After retiring from Robins Air Force Base, Sara started a second career working in her nephew's catering business where she became an expert cake maker. "Aunt Barkie" as she was affectionately known by her family loved to read, especially novels. She was considered by all to be a true southern lady with a gracious and gentle manner.

Graveside services will be private.
