Sfc Cecil L. Golden, U.S. Army (Ret.)

Cecil L. Golden, devoted husband, caring father, and doting grandfather and great-grandfather, entered into eternal rest on the morning of Friday, January 20, 2017. He was 91 years old.

Cecil was born in Alabama on May 9, 1925 to the late Arthur E. and Elizabeth E. Golden. He was a proud United States Army Veteran with two tours of duty in Vietnam and retired with the rank of Specialist First Class. Following his military career, Cecil owned and operated Golden's Heating and Air. He enjoyed being a member of Christ United Methodist Church and Moose Lodge. Cecil also loved being a part of several bowling leagues, playing cards, fishing, and watching CNN.

In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by a wife, Dorothy Golden; and nine siblings.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 23 years, Mary Miller Golden of Warner Robins; children, Pat Morales of Auburn, Alabama, Doug Golden of Warner Robins, and Steve Golden (Angela) of Brunswick; stepchildren, Joyce Pitcock (Red), Jean Perry (Steve), Marvin Miller (Mary), Rick Miller, Jimmy Brock (Marti) and Patricia Evans; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Bernice Meadows and Vivian A. Golden.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 24th at 12:00 p.m. in Magnolia Park Mausoleum where Mr. Golden will be laid to rest. The Rev. Dr. Matt Stewart will officiate. The family will receive friends at the cemetery one hour prior to the service.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Cecil to the Alzheimer's Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201.
