In the early morning hours of Monday, March 6, 2017, Buddy Jordan, 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior.
Buddy was born on April 3, 1938 in Macon, Georgia to the late Lyman and Nellie Pearl Jordan. With great pride and honor, he served in the United States Army for 20 years, retiring at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland. His military career made him a tough man who was very disciplined in every aspect of his life. Following his military retirement, Buddy worked in civil service as an electronics technician at Robins Air Force Base before retiring from there. An avid hunter and fisherman, he also loved riding his motorcycle and watching NASCAR. But his family was his top priority as he supported them in their individual lives. His daughter, Brenda Ann Jordan preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Marty Jordan (Suzanne) of Concord, North Carolina; Darlene Shackelford of Warner Robins; Larry Jordan of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandson, Kenny Shackelford (Brandi) of Florence, South Carolina; and former wife and best friend, Yvonne Jordan of Warner Robins.
A memorial gathering with Buddy's family will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with full military honors.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be given in memory of Lawrence W. "Buddy" Jordan to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Suite A, Macon, GA 31201.
