Earnest "Kenny" Flad, Jr., 89, entered into rest on Saturday, September 6, 2014.
Kenny was born on July 14, 1925 in Trout Run, Pennsylvania. With pride and honor he served his country in the United States Army, having fought during World War II. Kenny enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener and supporter of the Georgia Sheriff's Association. His parents, Earnest and Laura Flad; granddaughter, Veda Williams and siblings, George Flad, Faye Waugh, Howard Flad, Glen Flad, James Flad and John Flad, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Margaret Flad, children; Earnest F. Flad, III (JoAnne), Centerville and Donna E. Godfrey (Joe), Warner Robins; grandchildren, Joseph Godfrey, Jr. (Lisa), Savannah and David Godfrey, Vienna, Virginia; grandson in-law; Tracy Williams; great-grandchildren, Trenton Williams (Cassandra), Savannah, Taylor Williams, Warner Robins; Julie Godfrey, Katie Godfrey and Laura Ann Godfrey, all of Savannah; great great-grandson, Jackson Williams, Savannah; siblings, Linda Stoud (Paul), Flintville, Tennessee; Richard Lee Flad, New York; Freda Stoud, Williamsport, Pennsylvania; Irvan Flad, Trout Run, Pennsylvania and Catherine Pettit, Williamsport, Pennsylvania
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with full military honors. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association 886 Mulberry Street Macon, Georgia 31201.
