Shannon Mazelle Burt

Shannon Mazelle Burt, 47, passed away peacefully on the evening of Thursday, December 29, 2022.

Mrs. Burt was born on August 3, 1975, in Miami, Florida and grew up in Williston, Florida. She graduated from Bronson High School and entered the United States Air Force where she served her country with honor for three years. She loved the farm life and animals of all kinds, but especially horses and sea turtles. She also enjoyed fishing and hunting. But her greatest joys in life were her children.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband, John O. Burt, Jr.; her children, Cheyenne Socey and Devin Pope-Winningham; her stepchildren, Brianna Burt and Cody Burt; her mother, Elizabeth L. Pope-Winningham; her brother, Josh Wade Winningham, Jr.; her mother-in-law, Betty Burt; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

The memorial service celebrating Mrs. Burt’s life will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Cleghorn officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service. Interment will be private.
