Shantilal C. Desai

Shantilal Chunilal Desai, age 94, affectionately known as Dada, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 17, 2005 at 4:30 AM at the residence of Hansa and Dr. Manoj Shah. He was surrounded by his children and family members. A funeral service in loving memory of Dada will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at 3:00 PM in Warner Robins, Georgia at the McCullough Funeral Home.

Dada was born on August 16, 1911 in Talaja, Gujarat, India. He settled in Ghatkopar, Bombay, India where he raised his six children, five of whom eventually settled in the United States.

The first and foremost love of his life was his family. Dada directed the entirety of his life’s efforts towards caring for and improving the lives of his family.

Dada’s legacy and spirit carries on as he is survived by brother, Venilal Chunilal Desai of Talaja, India; four sons, Jitendra Desai of Bombay, India, Dolat Mehta of Warner Robins, Navnit Desai of Rochester, NY, Vinod Desai of Saratoga, CA; two daughters, Anita Mody and husband Vinod Mody of Atlanta, and Hansa Shah and husband Dr. Manoj Shah of Bonaire; 15 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Dada will be missed dearly by his family and those hearts he has touched.
