Sharon K. Poynter, a kind and loving soul with a zest for life, passed away on December 14, 2024, at the age of 65. Born on February 26, 1959, Sharon lived a life filled with passion, generosity, and creativity.
Sharon had a deep love for animals and was a devoted supporter of several charities, especially Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary. She enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and solving puzzles, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Known for her artistic talents, Sharon had an eye for beauty and expressed her creativity through her love of art.
A devoted traveler, Sharon loved driving and exploring new places, always embracing the adventure. She had a special place in her heart for children and was deeply compassionate, sharing her kindness and warm spirit with everyone she met. Sharon’s love for Jesus guided her life and inspired those around her. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Sharon was preceded in death by parents, Paul Payne, Sr. and Janet Chapman and brother, Paul “Buddy” Payne Jr.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her sister, Connie Gilman; niece, Lisa Gilman; and step father, Lewis Chapman.
A funeral service celebrating Sharon’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Northview Independent Methodist Church. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
