Shirley Gay Vickers

Shirley Gay Vickers, 77, entered into rest on Saturday, June 23, 2012.

Shirley was born on August 27, 1934 in Laurens County, Georgia. She retired from Dixie Auto after several years as an Administrative Assistant, and she attended Kingdom Hall in Fort Valley. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, she enjoyed all time spent with her family. Shirley will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her loving husband of forty-eight years, Harris R. Vickers; and parents, Thomas Hartley Gay and Ellie Pearl Coleman Gay; and sister, Marsha Vaughn, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her adoring children, Jerry Dominy (Laurie), Orange Park, Florida, Dennis Dominy (Gayle), El Dorado, Arkansas, Keith Vickers, Ohio, and Dawn Cavanah (Brian), Warner Robins; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Buddy Gay, Dalton, Georgia, Wayne Gay, Blackshear, Georgia, and Brenda Heeb, Alabama.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Fort Valley. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Suite A, Macon, GA 31201.
