A doting mother, grandmother, and friend, Shirley Jane Bowlin joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in Heaven on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.
Born on July 2, 1928, and raised in Rochester, New York, Shirley attended Brighton High School. Shortly after graduation, she married a young soldier serving in the United States Air Force, Robert Allen Bowlin. During their next 18 years, the couple learned that their home was not where they lived but rather the people around them, as the pair relocated a total 17 times. A dedicated wife and mother, Shirley enjoyed nothing more than supporting her former husband and raising their children. Warner Robins became their permanent residence in 1966, and Shirley began working for a local photographer, Ken Thomas. Shirley was also an avid reader and loved solving crossword puzzles. Above all, she loved her family unconditionally. Shirley was dearly adored and will be deeply missed by all.
Shirley was preceded in death by daughter, Connie Bowlin Renner; and parents, Robert G. and Myrtle Nettie Freislich Smith.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her son, Robert “Bob” Allen Bowlin, Jr. (Dell) of Warner Robins; and grandchildren, Steven Michael Renner and Emily Bowlin Scott (Samual).
A private graveside service celebrating her life will be held in Magnolia Park Mausoleum where Shirley will be laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Shirley Jane Bowlin to Humane Society of Houston County, Inc., 810 Carl Vinson Parkway, Centerville, Georgia 31028.
