Shirley Jeanne Strauss

Shirley Strauss, a caring wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, died in Georgia on the 7th of June 2023 at the age of eighty.

Shirley was born on January 13, 1943, to parents Bill and Jean Zierold. She completed nursing school in 1963, and later earned her MS in Education from Frostburg State University. After retiring from teaching, she and her husband, Charlie moved to Florida, where they enjoyed 18 years of retirement together.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Charlie, and her sister Patricia. Shirley is survived by her sister Beth, her son Charles, and her daughter Kim, as well as several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of life will occur on June 24th at 2:00 p.m. at The Assembly, 6040 Watson Blvd., in Byron, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Atrium Health Navicent Hospice Pine Pointe in Macon, GA.
