Shirley W. Ott, 69, entered into rest on Monday, April 23, 2012.
Shirley was born on December 7, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She retired from Robins Air Force Base as a Computer Resource Specialist and attended the First Church of Nazarene. An avid bowler, Shirley was inducted into the Georgia Bowling Association Hall of Fame, and was also very involved with Meals on Wheels. A loving and caring stepmother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be endlessly missed by all who knew her. Her husband of forty-seven years, Norman E. Ott, Sr.; and parents, Jimmy Allen Walker and Lettie Marie Douglas Walker, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her stepsons, Michael Ott (Bea) and Norman E. "Sparky" Ott, Jr., (Linda), Warner Robins; stepdaughters, P. Dyanne Rizor (Dana), Crawford County, and Teresa Ott, Warner Robins; grandchildren, Susan O. Malcom (Shane), Kimberly D. Ott, Ashley K. Ott, Michael N. Ott, Ronny Slocumb, Shannon Bennett, Katrina Leatherwood (Michael), Chris Hyde, Michelle Sanders, and Robert Reynolds, Jr. (Tracey); a number of great-grandchildren, including Hunter Walling, Brantly Malcom, and Landon M. Ott; and several other grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Andersonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations be given to the donor's favorite charity.
