Shirley Young, 81, entered into rest on Friday, October 2, 2015.
Shirley was born on November 15, 1933 in St. Charles, Missouri. With pride and honor she served her country in the United States Air Force for four year. Shirley volunteered her time with the boy scouts and girl scouts and was a thirty year volunteer with the bowling center. She was also an avid reader, Atlanta Braves fan, enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and took great pride in her family and enjoyed every moment she was able to spend with them.
Her parents, Frances and Eugene Meives; daughter, Janet Wiggins and grandson, William "L.B." Young preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, William Young of Byron, Steve Young of Oklahoma, Karen Williams of Bonaire and Robert Young of Tennessee; six grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and brother, Gary Meives of Missouri.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 4, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterwards, Mrs. Young will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Shirley Young to the Central Georgia Cancer Center, 114 Sutherlin Dr. Suite C-1, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088 or Gold Cup Bowl Center, 1014 Russell Parkway, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
