Al Asmus, 72, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 29, 2013.
Mr. Asmus was born on March 18, 1940 in Camden, New Jersey to the late Carl E. Asmus and Dorothy Prader Asmus. He was a 1958 graduate of Lower Camden County Regional High School in Lindenwold, New Jersey and proudly served in the United States Air Force for twenty-two and a half years from which he retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. A resident of Warner Robins since 1966, Mr. Asmus was a former owner of DGR Christian Bookstore in Perry and owned and operated City Computer Services, Inc. for nineteen years. He was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord. Mr. Asmus will be remembered as a most selfless person having a very giving heart. He was also tremendously musically talented.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Sylvia Asmus, Warner Robins; children, Alfred C. Asmus (Bonnie), Leesburg, Georgia, Betty Rought, Warner Robins, and David Wayne Asmus, Chico, California; grandchildren, Sylvia, Brad, and Bryan; great-grandson, Alex; and sisters, Deloris Franz (Joe) and Loretta Hubler (Jack).
Visitation will be Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Andersonville National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.. The family will accept flowers, or memorial donations may be given to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
