Duane Preszler, 80, passed into the hands of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. He was born on July 12, 1940, in Leola, South Dakota, a son of the late Julius W. and Melitta Preszler.
A 1958 graduate of Aberdeen High School, Duane served in the Army National Guard for two years before joining the United States Air Force. There, he for 25 years and fought for his country in the Vietnam War. Duane was awarded with many medals and accommodations to include a Meritorious Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with three devices. Following his military retirement, he worked as a civilian contractor at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, until finally retiring in 1999. Duane loved the Lord and enjoyed worship at Emmaus United Methodist Church in Panama City, Florida. For fun, he enjoyed traveling, skeet and trap shooting, watching NASCAR and spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 58 years, Sandra K. Preszler of Byron, formerly of Panama City, Florida; children, Sandra E. Harvey (Jay) of Kathleen, Timothy D. Preszler (Jeani) of Magnolia, Delaware, Mark D. Preszler (Chrysty) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Matthew J. Preszler (Rowena) of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Brian A. Harvey, Brandon W. Harvey, Zachary J. and Catherine M. Preszler, Sean M. Preszler, Alexander T. Preszler and Noel B. Preszler; great-grandchildren, Samantha R. Thompson and Sadi Ratterree; and siblings, Virginia Mattern, Telfanis Preszler, Vernald Preszler and Ronald Preszler.
Duane’s family will receive friends on Friday, March 19, 2021, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service celebrating his life will immediate follow at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Jack Hankins officiating.
