SMSgt. George F. Oldham, USAF (Ret.), 70, died Sunday, January 12, 2003 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. Services will be held at 2:00p.m. on Tuesday, January 14 in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Father Fred Nijem will officiate. Visitation will be Monday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at McCullough Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Heart Association, Houston County Division, 134 Cherren Dale Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
SMSgt. Oldham was born in Boston, Mass. A 21-year veteran of the United States Air Force., he received the Bronze Star for his service in the Vietnam War. He then worked for 22 years with the Houston County Sheriff's Dept. before his retirement. He served as escort for the Warner Robins Demons football team for 20 years and also volunteered for the Museum of Aviation. He was of the Catholic faith. His parents, George F. Oldham, Sr., and Sarah Oldham; and sister, Kathleen MacKinnon, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Marcia Oldham, Warner Robins; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Donna Oldham; and grandchildren, Jessica and Jason Oldham, all of Acworth.
McCullough Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
