SMSgt. J.W. Martin, USAF (Ret.), 65, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2003 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Services will be held on Friday, September 26 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment with full military honors will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery.
SMSgt. Martin was born in Eufaula, AL. A veteran, he was retired from the United States Air Force, having served two tours in Vietnam. After 30 years of active duty service he continued serving the military forces through his work with NATO overseas in Izmir, Turkey from 1988 until the time of his death. He was a Christian. His sisters, Ann Goram and Mamie Poku, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Dara Martin, Warner Robins; daughter, Esra Zara Martin, Warner Robins; mother, Lula Jones, Phenix City, AL; son, William Frederick Martin; daughter, Delisa Ann Martin; son, Michael Jonathan Martin; son, J.W. Martin, Jr.; sister, Doff Emory, sister, Victoria Clyde, and a brother, all of Phenix City, AL.
