Jesse O. Ferguson, 81, entered into rest on Monday, February 3, 2014.
Jesse was born on September 30, 1932 in Oxford, Georgia to the late James and Annie Collis Ferguson. He was a long-time member of Oakland Baptist Church. SMSgt Ferguson proudly and bravely served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era and Korean Conflict, retiring after a distinguished career. Subsequent to his military retirement, he retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base at the age of fifty-five. A tireless community servant and patriotic man, he was a 32 degree Mason. After retirement, he and his wife traveled the country in their RV. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he especially loved taking them on trips in the RV. His parents, his beloved wife of fifty-six years, Fumi Kitazaki Ferguson, and two brothers, Andrew and Talmadge Ferguson, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his daughters and sons-in law, Linda Ferguson Schneider (John), Summerfield, North Carolina; Susan Ferguson Arrington (Dick), Kathleen; grandchildren, Jesse Alldredge, Jonathan Schneider, and Alexandra Schneider.
Visitation will be Friday, February 7 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2014 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment with full Military Honors will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that donations be given to Oakland Baptist Church Building Fund, 1509 Russell Parkway, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
