Smsgt. Michael D. Walton, Usaf (Ret.)

Michael D. Walton, 67, entered into rest on Monday, September 7, 2015.

Michael was born on April 5, 1948 in Washington, Georgia to the late Thomas C. and Eleanor Williams Walton. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Air Force with the 5th Mob Wing and retired with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Michael was a huge advocate of the Wounded Warrior Project. He was great with his hands and loved being a woodworker and carpenter. Michael loved home and was dearly loved by his family and all who knew him.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 42 years, Johanna Walton of Warner Robins; son, Thomas B. Walton (Diane) of Perry; grandchildren, PFC Douglas Walton and Kaitlyn Walton, both of Perry; brothers, Shelby Walton (Betty) of Lincolnton, Georgia, James Walton (Dawn) of Washington, Georgia, and Brian Walton (Becky) of Appleton, Georgia; and several adoring nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Michael D. Walton to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
