William "Bill" E. Hawkins, 79, entered into rest on Saturday, May 5, 2012.
Bill was born on November 17, 1932 in Goshen, New York. He was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church and the Dennis Watts Sunday School Class. With honor and commitment, SMSgt Hawkins served in the United States Air Force, retiring after obtaining the rank of SMSgt. Subsequent to his military retirement, Bill also retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base where he worked as an Avionics Supervisor. Bill loved his family, his church and his community. He proudly volunteered with Happy Hour School and was an avid baseball and softball fan. His parents, Forrest and Dorothy Hawkins, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Lenel Green Hawkins, Bonaire; son and daughter in law, Kenneth William Hawkins (Patti), Stockbridge; granddaughter, Olivia Kathryn Hawkins, Atlanta; siblings, John Hawkins, New Hampton, New York, Jean Morrissey, Long Island, New York, Kenneth Hawkins, Campbell Hall, New York; and so many other loving family members and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. The family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
