SMSgt. William Norman Leidall, USAF (Ret.), 79, entered into rest on December 29, 2024, leaving behind a legacy marked by love, laughter, and dedication. Born on August 21, 1945, in Valley City, North Dakota, William lived a life full of adventure, humor, and unwavering commitment to his family and country.
With an honorable career dedicated to service, William retired after twenty remarkable years in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. His service spanned the tumultuous years of Vietnam, during which he exemplified courage and dedication. Following his military service, William found his calling as a stockbroker with Smith-Barney, where he successfully navigated the world of finance.
William's personality was a beacon of light; his very funny nature and deep, infectious belly laugh could brighten any room. His ability to find humor in life's moments was one of the many gifts he shared with those who knew and loved him. He held an unwavering love for his wife, Sharon, with whom he shared 58 wonderful years of marriage. Together they created a home filled with warmth, joy, and an unbreakable bond that will forever be felt by those they touched.
William was a man of many interests and passions, including a love for bowling – an activity he cherished sharing with his beloved wife. His adventurous spirit led him and Sharon to explore travel extensively; whether cruising across the United States in their motorhome or visiting far-off countries, William thrived on the new experiences they shared together. In his free time he enjoyed watching sports, especially football.
William rejoins his parents, Norman and June Leidall, his son, Wayne Leidall, and his siblings, Leroy Leidall, Gregory Leidall, and Linda Willert, in eternal rest.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Sharon Arlene Leidall; daughter, Robbin Leidall of Rincon; grandchildren, Jennifer Petrusawich (Greg), Troy Leidall (Logan), and Will Leidall, all of Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Colt and Layne; brothers, Tim Leidall, Kent Leidall, and Kevin Leidall; and sisters-in-law, Linda Hall and Judy Davis, along with many other loving family members and friends.
