Eighty-eight year old Isaac Turner entered into Heaven on Monday, March 28, 2016. He was born on February 25, 1928, in Troy, Alabama, to the late Isaac, Sr. and Lela Love Turner. With great pride and honor Isaac served in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After over 20 years of service, he retired with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his active duty service, Isaac began his civil service career at Robins Air Force Base where he retired after over 20 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years. Isaac always liked being outdoors; he especially enjoyed cooking out and working in the yard. He was a wonderful father who always supported and watched his children playing sports through the years. His greatest joy was found in his love for his family and their beloved dogs.
Along with his parents, he was preceded him in death by his sister, Eloise Streeter, and brother, Smith Mahone.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 46 years, Frances Dawson Turner of Warner Robins; children, Dominic Turner of Warner Robins; Reginald Turner of Marietta; grandchildren, Jordan Turner, Christopher Turner; nieces, Vashon Streeter and Cassandra Hooks and her son "Shannon"; cousin, LaBertha Tisdale and family of San Diego, California; as well as numerous other beloved family members.
Visitation with Isaac's family will be Friday, April 1, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Following the service, Isaac will be laid to rest in a private committal service in Carroll Street Cemetery, in Troy, Alabama, with full military honors.
