David Burton, 87, joined his beloved wife, Doris, on Friday, December 20, 2019.
David was born on November 6, 1932 in Calhoun Falls, South Carolina to the late Willie and Amy Burton. He honorably served in the United States Air Force obtaining the rank of Staff Sargent. David’s military career gave him the opportunity to travel the world prior to retiring and making Warner Robins his home in 1963. Following his military retirement, David dedicated his time to working for Pabst Blue Ribbon until his second retirement in which he spent his days fishing and enjoying his favorite band, Credence Clear Water Revival, also known as CCR.
His beloved wife, Doris; parents, grandchildren, William David Brown, Jr. and Robert Wayne Mosely and siblings, Billy, Ralph, Beatrice and Betty Ann preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving children, Teresa Mosely of Warner Robins, Tamara Burton of Byron and David Burton (Renee’) of Greenville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Brandon, David, Timmy and Kayla; great grandchildren, Carter, Mason, Katelyn, Bradley, Easton and Kora; brother, Jack Burton (Pat) of Greenwood, South Carolina and devoted caregiver, Martha Mathis.
Visitation will be Monday, December 23, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with a funeral service following in the chapel. Afterward, Mr. Burton will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of David Ray Burton to the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center at 1826 Veterans Boulevard, Dublin, GA 31021 or visit the website at dublin.va.gov.
