Staff Sergeant Joshua Marion Schoenhoff died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, in an effort to save a fellow airman in Okinawa, Japan.
Born August 20, 1987, Joshua was a native of Bourbon, Missouri and a graduate of Bourbon High School. He joined the United States Air Force in 2010, where he completed his Associates Degree. He served in the 461st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron as an Instruments and Flight-Control Specialist.
Joshua was preceded in death by his father, Leland Schoenhoff, and his grandfather, Marion Blankenship.
He is survived by his wife of six years, Jessica Schoenhoff; two children, Kaylee and Kameron; Parents, Tina and Charles Hamblin; brothers Timothy, Aaron (Megan), David (Terrie), Nathan, Justin and Jacob; an aunt, Marian Redhage (Jeff), an uncle, Darrell Blankenship (Mindy); grandparents Betty Blankenship and Janice Schoenhoff; one niece, three nephews; many other family members and friends.
Joshua loved working on cars and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church in Warner Robins, where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 11:00 a.m. Another service will be held at a later date near Bourbon, Missouri.
